What we do to make sessions inclusive and accessible
We asked our young people how we could best support people during sessions, with peer reviews and feedback form (thank you if you were someone who filled this in!).
We got some great feedback on how we can make sure MCR Social is as accessible and enjoyable as possible. Here’s what we learned and what we are doing in response:
2. We were advised to focus on group activities, with varied group sizes.
This means we now offer a range of group activities, and do our best to estimate the sizes. Where large groups are expected, we will break everyone into smaller groups of 4-6 people, each with a team member supporting them.
1.We were advised to provide as much guidance and instruction as possible
This means we plan sessions to have a clear timetable, which you can read on the events for the calendar. Staff and volunteers are there to help - there should always be a structured activity led by a staff member that young people can join.
